Joe Biden plans to hit campaign trail after hunkering down amid pandemic

Joe Biden is setting up a plan to emerge from his basement.

The Democratic presidential nominee — whom President Trump has mocked for hunkering down in his Delaware basement during the coronavirus pandemic – said he plans to return to the campaign trail, according to Politico.

“One of the things we’re thinking about is I’m going to be going up into Wisconsin, and Minnesota, spending time in Pennsylvania, out in Arizona,” Biden said Thursday, the outlet reported.

“What we’re working on is how I get out,” the former veep explained during a campaign fundraising event. “I’m going to be traveling throughout the country where I can do it consistent with the state rules about how many people can be assembled.”

“But we’re going to do it in a way that is totally consistent with being responsible, unlike what this guy’s doing,” Biden added.

“I’m a tactile politician. I really miss being able to, you know, grab hands, shake hands, you can’t do that now. But I can in fact appear beyond virtually, in person, in many of these places,” he said.

Biden accepted the nomination in Delaware among a limited group of journalists and no supporters present.

The president, meanwhile, accepted the GOP nomination for re-election on Thursday evening in front of a sea of guests on the White House South Lawn.
